From 1710 to 1749, Annapolis Royal was the
capital of Nova Scotia, at that time a British
possession, and the Governor's Garden reflects
this 18th century period.
The formal geometric plan includes four
symmetrical beds featuring early apple trees
surrounded by clipped box hedges. The remaining
beds display a strict pattern of herbs and
flowers. Tall yew hedges enclose this serene and
elegant garden.
